- Our lease identifies One Multifamily Owner LLC.
- The online payment process appears to direct payments to SLR Ventures LLC.
I wasn’t aware of that distinction when I signed.
What I’m saying, and what I’m not
I can’t tell from this alone whether the arrangement is improper, and I’m not claiming it is. Plenty of properties use separate ownership and management or payment entities. My point is that residents should get clear information about every entity involved in their lease and their rent payments.
What to confirm before you sign
- The exact legal entity named as landlord on your lease.
- The authorized recipient of your rent payments, online and otherwise.
- If those differ, a written explanation from management of how the entities are related.
