Our problems haven’t been limited to our own apartment.
Trash buildup and hallway odors
There have been recurring problems with trash piling up in the trash room. When it builds up, the smell spreads through the first-floor hallway.
Clean common areas are part of what you pay for, especially at a property marketed at the high end of the Scottsdale rental market. Residents shouldn’t have to routinely deal with persistent odors in shared hallways.

The garage gate
In my experience, the garage gate has frequently been out of service. Working parking access and entry systems are a basic expectation for any residential property.

Why it matters
On their own, these might sound minor. Taken together with the water leak, the flooring, the unpredictable repairs and the unpaid concession, they’ve shaped my overall impression that upkeep here doesn’t match the rent.
What to check on a tour
- Ask to see a trash room and walk the first-floor hallway, not just the model unit and amenities.
- Ask how often the garage gate has been out of service recently and how quickly it’s repaired.
